About

Julie Legrand

I photograph the small, honest details that reveal a place or a person.

Julie Legrand, originally from Lille and based in Biarritz since 2021, I have been a photographer for over ten years. I now work exclusively with expired film, and immerse the rolls in water drawn directly from the ocean at the time of development. This poetic gesture is a way of inviting the landscape itself to speak, so that a trace of immensity remains in every photograph. Behind the account @letowave, I build my cinematic imagery between melancholy and poetry, where every imperfection is a crack through which the light enters.
